The illnesses, pains and emotional challenges that we experience are often the expression of deep unspoken feelings and emotions. Once we can understand and get in touch with those emotions, expressions, feelings and even thoughts, we can begin the process of healing.

Topics will include:

  • Understanding the part psychology plays in the treatment of chronic pain and specifically orofacial pain.
  • Red flags that are raised in each patient and the psychological issues they bring with them
  • Psychological assessments utilized in the treatment of orofacial pain patients
  • Learning the mind-body connection: how the mind expresses pain and disease through the body
  • Understanding the different treatment modalities utilized to address chronic pain
  • Learning and understanding the application of 3rd wave treatment modalities
  • The power of hypnotherapy in reducing anxiety and initiating the parasympathetic nervous system
  • Biofeedback, heart-rate variability to aid in reducing anxiety and promoting healing
