Dentists

Dentists in British Columbia are required to complete a certain number of continuing education credits to maintain their licensure. The College of Dental Surgeons of British Columbia (CDSBC) sets these requirements to ensure that dentists remain competent in their practice.

• Credit Requirements: Dentists must complete 90 CE credits every three years.
• Categories: These credits must include a combination of core and non-core activities. Core activities typically include structured courses, workshops, or conferences directly related to clinical practice. Non-core activities can encompass a broader range of topics, including practice management and self-study.
• Documentation: Dentists must keep detailed records of their CE activities and may be required to submit documentation upon request.

Dental Hygienists

Dental hygienists in British Columbia must also adhere to specific CE requirements, as mandated by the College of Dental Hygienists of British Columbia (CDHBC).
